This book is divided into two parts, first part is concerned with application of the Internet while the second part consists of advance application. This book contains seven chapters. Almost every chapter. Almost every chapter has a list of URLs at the end. Chater1 tells about the basic need and objectives for writing this book. Chapter 2 provides a bird's eye-view of the Internet and World Wide Web and compares both in addition to discussing various other protocols and applications, its also an introduction on how Internet Application are useful to Libraries and Information Centres; Chapter 3 highlights all types of resources available on the WWW and imparts necessary skills in order to enable readers to compare different types of resources. Chapter dwells on imparting the know-how to search for specific information and formulate effective queriesfor searching. Chapter 4 trains readers to navigate throught various Search engines, Meta Search engines, databases, portals, etc.; Chapter 5 discusses on setting up web server with a step-by step approach with 'Screen Shots'. It discusses the instsallation procedure and configuation of web server software 'IIS' from Microfoft as well as 'Asache' software from Appache Inc.; Chapter 6 provides a collection of necessary information and guidelines to desing 'Library Web Page' in a meaningful way; Chapter 7 follows a step-by-step illustrative way to Build your own Digital Library' using Greenstone Software. This is tailored specifically for working librarians, future librarians and for anyone at the portals of digital craze. This book will be very useful to the students as well as the teachers as an Internet usage guide.

Suresh Panwar has Master's in computer Application and carried rich industry experience of more than 5 years. He is currenty working as Manager (IT) with Panjab National Bank . At the time of writing the book, he was servig as Scientist 'B' and Group Leader of E-Education group at INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad. Dr. T. A. V. Murthy (Ph. D. in Library and Information Science) is working at INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad as Director. He carries with him, rich experience of working in different libraries and institutes of national importance. he is member of various professional bodies and committees. He has guided a number of Ph.
