The mission of library and information service, i. e., "Every user his/ her information", is universal. This mission of library services to bring information to people would be unaffected by changes in media used to bring infromation and people together, even in the twenty first century. With the advent of new technology, including on-line information system, we have better means of monitoring of information use and the ability to make use of it for management of information. Consequently, there is need for the profession to think and perform differently by exploring and exploiting the potentials of new technology to achieve this universal mission. This unique book brings together and present in a coherent fashion, for the first time, a series of papers written by established academics, on this significant area in the discipline of library and information science.
