The book on Depression is the first attempt of its kind by an Indian author, not a single book on this topic is available in the Indian market, apart form the clinical and medical therapy. This book is an attempt ot cure this disease through the behavioristic approach. Behavioristic approach is followed in treating the patient without any side-effects. The author studies the problems psychologically and sociologically and makes an attempt to treat the patient psychologically by studying his behaviour and follow the behavioristic approach. The book will be immensely useful for psychologists, neurologists and for those families in which one of its members is a patient of Depression. It will be equally useful for the sociologists and for those universities which have Sociology and Psychology Departments. Psychiatrists too might find it useful. The book is written in Lucid style avoiding the complicated psychological jargons. It is not very bulky and readers will find it simple to study. It is made very clear that behavioristic approach to cure the depressed person cannot be claimed as the best therapy as the individual case is dealt separately individually, therefore the author does not make any tall claims to cure the disease through this approach. the author will feel elevated if a few patients and their families find the reading useful and their ailing family member is fully cured. Constructive suggestions and advise to improve the book is very much solicited from the reader.
