of a library and then finally making important decisions. Library
Administration and management handles internal and external administrative
matters for the Libraries, providing managerial leadership, strategic planning,
resource management, development/fund raising, and direction of the overall operations
of Libraries. Library management includes efficient and effective management of
information resources of libraries. The resources include (4 Ms) Men (staff),

Dr.
Gurdev Singh is a Post Graduate in Economics and Doctorate in Library and
Information Science from University of Delhi. He is in Library profession for
the last 35 years. At present he is working as Librarian (Prof. Grade) at Sri
Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, University of Delhi. He has published 14
research papers on different aspects of Library and Information Science in
national and International journals of repute. He attended number of national
and International seminars/workshops. He has attended several Orientation and
Refresher courses in the field of Library and Information Science organized by
various universities from time to time. Several students have completed MPhil,
PhDs, PGDLAN and other courses related to Library and Information Science under
his guidance.
