Libraries will be required to invest in continually evolving technologies and the personnel infrastructures necessary to their effective operation and utilization. The prime mover for the progress of the world is fair competition and thoughtful cooperation among countries. Information is an invisible commo-dity. Like visible commodities, it requires an appropriate distribution mechanism in order to reach end users. However, while these thechnologies are increasingly complex in them selves, their incorporation into commercial products should simplify the training and support needs across computing platforms for the long term.
